Pohádka o malém smrčku, který touží opustit les a poznat svět. Stane se vánočním stromkem — ozdobeným a obdivovaným, ale brzy otrhaným a zapomenutým. Na půdě vypoví svůj příběh myškám, a nakonec skončí na dvoře, kde shořel v ohni, zatímco děti si hrály v zahradě.

A fairy tale about a small spruce tree that longs to leave the forest and see the world. It becomes a Christmas tree — decorated and admired, but soon stripped bare and forgotten. In the attic it tells its story to mice, and finally ends up in the yard, where it burns in a fire while children play in the garden.
